knowing a person for 30 years and never suspecting anything...it is quite a devastating shock when things come to light.

Is that person CHANGED for the better in 30
years? Are they back to what they 'once were'
Sometimes we need to face that someone face to
face.
Sometimes we need to "let it go".
Depends on the 'stances, etc.
I know we have to face all our feelings about
the news....

If ya had not known that person for 30 years would you be less shocked? Granny, how long did you say you were married? And, does this have something to do with your husband? And, the list of Questions go on and on.

As for the answer to your somewhat unrevealing question about "How do you handle shocking news"?, Well I'm the wrong person to ask. For, nothing shocks me........gfp

It'd make my eyes bug out till you could rope 'em with a grapevine if I found out Aunt Maudie was REALLY Uncle Rufus! ('Scuse the levity... but the door was left open...)
