Vacation has finally arrived, I'm off till Dec. 1st. I decided to hunt the farm yesterday and was quite surprized. I arrived at 5.30 am and made my way to my stand and awaited day break.
It was warm at 49 degrees and windy at 12 mph out of the east. At 7.10 the first deer arrived in the bean plot, a small spike. Shortly after wards the does starting meandering in and some how next time I noticed the time it was 12 noon and I had counted 26 deer total, three were bucks(none were shooters by my standards) luckly I had brought my fanny pack and a few snacks, so I decided to stay the day. After a short cell phone call to the daughter and the Gf I'm all set to spend the rest of the day hunting.
Shortly after 2 pm I hear a horn toot in the distance, and after awhile I see and orange vest making it's way towards me, after a short peak through the binoculars I see it's the Gf headed my way. She has decided to bring me a lunch and hunt with me till dark.
We were not dissapointed as to seeing deer. 14 total between 2pm and dark.We just did'nt see any of the larger deer I know are there. Ohhh well it was a good day even though it was to windy...and best of all I had really good company to spend the afternoon with....
I guess I'll try my luck again Monday morning, maybe I'll wait till mid morning and sneak back in there....

have a nice day....

oh well sure yer hunting, don't kid me - suzn hiked out to keep me company one night when i was burning brush piles. time we were done it got so friendly & cozy i should have carved our initials in the bug tire. next time you go out, count the trophy tracks that were grazing around your stand. :)
