Find what you want before you sale what you have..The place we have has got so much of "sweat equity" in it...We are boxed in and need more land...but not any to be had around us...Think about selling but everything seems to be for sale here in Arkansas...and they want what I consider way too much for it...But if I could find just what I was looking for I would sell this one..We are like you we want back in the boonies...It was that way when we first moved there is folks in eyeshot...don't like that at all...
If we buy undeveloped land we have to start all over..and don't know if our health is up to they say the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak...In this case it is the you decision toolman it will be the right one...KAtG

I have had two offers from two different neighbors in the last month...

Amazing what putting out the word around town that you are being courted by someone that wants to put a house in the neighbors viewshed will do for your property values ;-)

Just don't do like my sister did in California. She bought a place (5 acres) for around 56,000.00 had it about 5 years with a Moble Home on it. They started building all around her and a contractor offerd her 580,000.00 for it. She turned it down and I went thru the roof. He upped it to 700,000.00 and she still turned it down!! I asked her what are you doing it would take you another lifetime to save that up?? She told me I am waiting for them to go up to One Million then I will sell. Well the bottom fell out of the building in that area do to lack of water and utilitys and now she can't sell for 100,000.00 if she wanted to. Now she wants to move and can't get rid of the place. You better take the money and run. For that much I could have a place fit for a king! Mark H.

What part of Kaliforny?

toolman    Posted 11-17-2004 at 14:08:01       [Reply]  [No Email]
well the bottom won,t fall out here i wish it would and we could enjoy our lives again,it will only keep going up, you have to remember it costs to get started all over again and all the work, i was looking forward to retiring here in peace but that isn,t gonna happen, i won,t jump at the first offer on anything , been buyin an sellin all my life and learned that along time ago, however there is a time to be smart, and you have to know when to be and think with your head and not your heart.we have put alot into this place since i bought a bare over grown pasture 17 years ago.

I do not want to build again either. But with that kind of money someone else would build it with me being the Contractor. Mark H.

That is most wonderful Mr. Toolman, perhaps you could help me get a new store going in the down south by the Ozark place. Small investment of your new found wealth and many big retuns of profit.

I dunno if crazy canucks are allowed in PR lol. We have exactly the same inmmigration rules as the USA. So if they would allow you to live there, you could move here..
If you would spend like $ 150,000 - $ 200,000 you can buy yoursef a nice 3 bedroom house in the country over here.
No need to bring your get-rid-of-snow equipment. You gotta buy shorts though lol

rayinmo    Posted 11-17-2004 at 18:43:41       [Reply]  [No Email]
And bring your own water,hehe

Gerrit    Posted 11-17-2004 at 14:23:12       [Reply]  [No Email]
Who said that you could come and live here and start to remove trees, huh? lol
Oh well, I have some tress I have to get rid if, but first I've to buy a ( plastic, no tin :-) ) hard hat I guess.. You got a hard hat? In that case bring your get=rid-of-snow equipment and I'll be happy to watch you removing those trees...

toolman    Posted 11-17-2004 at 14:43:54       [Reply]  [No Email]
well if i didn,t have to plow snow i guess i wouldn,t have to worry about trees , see that sorta of goes hand in hand here , we plant the in the spring and i know them down in the winter, aand duct tape them back together till the snow melts so i don,t get in trouble till then anyways , shes always in a better mood in the spring and can take the destruction a little better.

Now if I could get an offer like that, I would be in the Peace River Valley so fast I'd blow King Ralphs hair off...
