back in 86 when we purchased our place here on the edge of yuppieville it was not uncommon to have hot air ballons passing by every week-end. sometimes when the windows were open we would be awakened by the sound of the ballon's air blower.(?) we would also hear the migrating geese, as we always did, flying overhead. now we neither see or hear both. the hot air ballons have gone the way of the "pet rock" craze and the high flying geese have disappeared. plenty of non-migrating are here, pooping up everything, but the migrating geese have disappeared too.
it's hard for me to accept that the geese have changed their ways in so short of time. i guess it's because we no longer have snow on the ground for most of the winter.
