The NBA could take a lesson from this story.

The perfect town.    Posted 11-24-2004 at 05:55:11       [Reply]  [No Email]
An earlier post was talking about a better town, or something like that. I think if you go visit that town in Colorado, you will find more than you were counting on. I was thinking about who the star was. The boy Sebastian, of course. Why, just because he ran 80 yards for a TD. Nope, I thought wait a minute, he has been putting that uniform on for years. The grit and determination should be a lesson for us all. So, in my opinion he wasn't the star. So who was? The coach, no, even though he made this all possible. Even the referees, No. not them either. How about his team mates who could have shunned him but didn't. Well then, how about the opposing team who said ok, we'll do it. So, who then? How about the parents? They certainly deserve some credit for how they raised their boys. How about Sebastion's school? They could have rediculed the team, thus making this some sort of embarrassment. Then, what about the town, the community, the people who live there. No, I say it wasn't just Sebastion who scored the touchdown that night. The whole town scored that night. Sebastioned just happened to be carrying the ball.

If you are looking for that perfect town, then you might want to start with that little town in Colorado.
I didn't mention pride did I? No need to, You know I feel proud and I only read and thought a little about the article. I couldn't possibly describe the pride that community must have.

You sure got that right Rickstir. Thanks for posting such a touching story. Those kinds of stories just make me glad that I do what I do for a living. And will continue doing for just as long as I possibly can. Both teams surely got the Blessing on that day : )
