Shoot deer with your computer!

Well we've sunk to a new low. Fellow in Texas is setting up a web site where you can pay a fee and shoot deer with your computer.

No, this is not a video game. He has a camera mounted to a rifle in a stand on his property that is connected to the internet. Right now you can only target shoot but come next year he is set up to have you control the gun and shoot a real live deer with a click of the mouse button from anywhere in the world!

Lotta flak over this one. Game department is trying to change law that says you have to be on premises to shoot deer.

That's all I know about it right now. Heard it on the news tonight.

Your thoughts?

No one should be permitted to "log-on" to a gun.

This has now given a bunch of "nut cases" an idea. Next thing you know, they'll be finding these devices set up on street corners being run out of a hotel room.

I see it both ways. For the average hunter, this is not an ethical way to go.

HOWEVER, we found this website a few weeks ago and immediately loved the idea for my 18 year old nephew. He is severely handicapped and would love to be able to go deer hunting with the rest of us. However, he is not able to venture outside without a whole mess of hoses etc. He is, however, able to work a computer just as accurately as you or I can via eye controls etc. If he can hunt using his computer and have the game actually sent back home then that is a very welcomed solution to a problem that we have never been able to fix. I say, hurray for them developing the technology but shame on any able bodied hunter for logging in.

To put the pics on a post. I usally use Tiny Pics. I have a collection of .Gif pics that I use that can be very quickly uploaded to Tiny Pics hosting service. Then I just copy the "Tag" line that they give you and post it anywhere in the message that I want the pic. I rarely use the pics directly off a web site because you are stealing bandwidth off of them and that's just not right. I think I donated a couple of dollars to the Tiny Pics site and they give you unlimited amount of uploads. It's pretty handy. The site is designed for just that purpose. Posting a pic and using it for posting elsewhere or sharing it with someone and then it's gone. You don't have to worry about saving it or deleting it online. It's a one shot deal for each pic. Watch out for the adware pop-up when you first go to the site. Be sure to close that window right away when it pops up or you could have spyware on your computer.

For long term pics I want to host I use PhotoBucket.com.

thats getting way to lazy, i hope they can`t get it off of the ground. getting out in the elements and stalking the prey is as much as part of the hunt as pulling the trigger. if i want to play, i have this game, its entertaining and i don`t have to clean my weapon at the end of the hunt.
