was reading about your truck, should maybe check out the cost of a rebuilt motor , if that is indeed what is a wrong with it, your costs are going mostly to labour getting some shop to rebuild your old engine, dropping a new one in isn,t as much least around here and they may have to take your old one out anyway to do a proper rebuild , just a thought.

Hey, thanks! I am going to have another shop look at it next week, and get a definitive diagnosis. They'll take off the oil pan and look. I paid the dealer $90.00 and all they did really was listen to the engine and tell me it would cost $3100.00. I will see how long I can get away with driving it as is. Thing is, I'd like to take some long trips, drive to Oregon or Arizona and I need to rely on the truck.
