The deer population is becoming a very serious problem here.
My son, hog hunter, had one run out in front of him this weekend, an 8 point buck, totaled his paid for Toyota Tacoma. Of course being paid for he was only carrying liability insurance. :-)

My friend's daughter and her little boy driving home, had a deer crash into her Mustang. It took her nine months to get it repaired properly. The Enterprise Rental car man said 60% of his car rentals the past year was due to deer accidents.

I live in town and almost hit two deer crossing a street three blocks from my house. I have also seen at lease five others in my neighborhood.

I believe the hunting season needs to be extended and limits increased. There has got to be some type of deer population control. There seems to be a deer behind ever tree here. It would be great if they stayed there but they dont!!

The photo is not of anyone I know; just put it as an example of the damage they cause.

That's what General Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson said when asked what was the solution to the Yankee problem.

if that vehicle was white it could of been ours saturday, it wasn,t that bad because i managed to severe around it enough to keep it out of the explorer, sure brings back memories, my wife was sitting on that side.

Bless your heart, toolman, I am so thankful that you and your sweetheart managed to survive it.
My son did, too, just a little sore. If it had happened to his wife in her little car the outcome would not have been as good. They live out in the country and the deer are worse there. One lady told him traffic had to stop both ways one evening while a whole herd of deer crossed the highway. She said she quit counting at 50! Sounds unbelievable but I have no reason to doubt her story.

wife just called she,s at therpathy now seems her shoulder is dislocated,we just traded our grande am off, had we had that im scared to think of what the outcome could of been.that night i hit the deer we made it home about 3 hours later she wasn,t doin so good i was worried about a concussion so i took her to town to the hospital , on the way home she yelled there was another deer right on the side of the road still in the town, think it,ll be a while before i get out of second gear now.

I've been called crazy for my thoughts, but I belive that the state should have to pay for deer damage to a vechicle. Whatever it took in increaced deer hunting licences to fund the repair pool.
Say you shoot a deer 2 days before,or after season, the state charges you for killing "their" deer, but if the deer hits your car it's not"their's"
My idea of a kill limit...6 a day 365 days a year. Yes I've had deer damaged vehicles.

Had one hit me the other nite - ran out of the corn - paused at the edge of the road and dved into the rear quarter of my fiber-glass van. Bounced right off! Bet she had a headache for a while. Nearly hit two more in the 20 miles or so trip home. (That picture isn't yours? Have seen it and a bunch of others from that crash on the net for the past year or so...((Still have 'em on my computer, and print out to show my driving students what can happen.)) Story is that deer dived iff overpass right into guy's windshield. Suprisingly he wasn't hurt.)
