It's not in my nature to moan and groan about issues. But, I've got a stake in this land and, the Anthem, like the flag, is to me a thing worthy of defending. Having said that, it brings me to the point of this post.

Now, I thought they had scraped the bottom of the barrel when the allowed Roseanne Barr/Arnold to sing at a football game. But, on Thanksgiving day they broke through the bottom of the barrel and dug down about 8 or 10 feet and brought out Trace Adkins. And, from where I sit, what he did to the Anthem wasn't much different than turning up the flame on a blow-torch and directing it onto Old Glory.

Some people can do fairly well singing their own style of music. But, Mr. Trace Adkins can not do justice to the anthem. So, why was he selected? I think it's all about current popularity as opposed to real talent. And, Maybe the fans thought it was good.

I'm all through ranting now. And, I'll get by if I don't think about it........gfp

I have no idea who he is, but I trust your judgment...

And I agree that it is about popularity and not necessarily talent or honoring this country...

I led the Pledge of Allegiance at my highschool graduation...I was honored to do it...

I don't know him either but that must be the same feller that butchered it at the car races---twice. Miami and one more I don't remember where.
