last night and never made it back. There was enough of a cold feel to the air that I figgered I needed to spread some hay in the dog houses and shelters to keep the critters toasty.

You know we start to freeze to death here at fifty degrees.

Supposed to be 46 here today, scattered showers tomorrow.

Frigid, ain't it? Lol!

Really though, I love it. I stay outside a lot more when it's cool like this.

Yeah, I know what you mean.. We've been sleeping without airco last week.. When I leave home at 5:30 it's too cold to open a window in the car..

It's gonna be a warm day again though: 80 F max and lots of sun..
Have a good weekend everybody!

You too..    Posted 12-04-2004 at 05:41:19       [Reply]  [No Email]

I suppose we ought to be greatful that the wind isn't blowing a hundred miles an hour, eh DD? After this summer, a little cold is a gift.

Being a single guy responsible for my own laundry, I welcome cold weather. One pair of coveralls can keep from having to wash 5 or 6 pairs of jeans and shirts in a week!!

Wait a come colder weather means less laundry? it sure doesn't work that way around here.

If you lived in a cooler part of the country you wouldn't have to ask that question. When it gets down in the 20's we just don't sweat as much. For further input see Joe k's reply.

Joe K, I have a project for you, if you're up for it.

your mission...    Posted 12-04-2004 at 06:31:37       [Reply]  [No Email]
...should you choose to accept it, is to find out the details of a photo that was sent to me in my e-mail.

The photo is of a man who was supposedly in a skydiving accident. He was impaled on a telephone pole. The pole entered in his groin area and exited out his back. I have searched high and low and can find no details to go with the photo. I want to know if it is authentic and if the man survived. I can't explain why I want to know this, but I do. I just can't fathom how this accident was physically possible. Maybe I can make sense of it if I know exactly how it happened.

I can send you a copy of the photo, but know that it is fairly graphic.

It's probably real.
1. Its not an operating room, It's most likely a trauma bay of an ER. No sterile fields, no covers on heads or face masks...
2. A person faking a photo may not know to color the left leg as they did. That's a dead leg...most likely from shearing the left femoral or iliac artery.
3. He may not have bled to death since the pole tamponaded or compressed the blood vessels that were severed.
4. Notice the clothing inside the wound surrounding the entry point.
5. The clear view of the face is shown. Someone who took the photo realized they needed to keep the victim's face out of plain view.

correction: NO clear view of face.

Poor guy. I hope it was faked, but somehow I don't think so.

Its down in the 20s at night here in wisconsin, 50 in day is warm. Snow due soon. Check Implement Alley for thread on turning dishwasher into snowremover. RN/

I have been reading (tongue in cheek) the threads regarding using clothes dryers for warmth, etc. So the dishwasher/snow-remover thing does not surprise me one bit. (grin)

Interesting thread for the rest of the ladies to check. Maybe have ideas about skillets to head? Got to check last of garden later- still have some carrots to pull. RN.
