Congrats!!!

one of the reasons we picked our date was, it was one week before Easter and the church was filled with pretty flowers for Easter.

March 26

17 years this year!

The church donw the road had just been remodeled, and it just happened to be in muave, and it matched the flowers, bridesmaids dresses and such. So, we really wanted to use that church. We planned it for April 29th, but it was booked, and the next Saturday just so happened to be my 21st birthday, and so...I got Ian for my 21st birthday! Neat, huh?

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Mugway. You know the longer you stay together, the less likely it will be that you part. My wife and I have been fussin, fightin and loving for almost 40 years. And, I can tell you in truth, I don't know what I'd do without her.......gfp

Our wedding was pretty much the same as yours. He proposed (what he said was, "I guess we could get married"), we got the blood test, called his brother's preacher a couple days later, and did it. I figured we'd better jump before he changed his mind! One of my many peculiarities is that I hate big weddings. Women are supposed to love them, I know; but I avoid them whenever possible. These days every niece and nephew has two or three weddings before they find "Mr. or Mrs. Right" anyhow. I'd be going to a wedding every week.

Happy anniversary, Mugway!

We married twice.

The first time was the 3rd of October, a beautiful wedding in Vegas, very romantic..
Then we found out, a couple of months later, that authorities in Germany made a mistake with Gerrit's divorce documents that he didn't notice before, he fixed it and..there we went again, 4th of March, but this time very business-like, and funny too, we spent a great weekend in St.Thomas.

Congrats, Mugway...you surely pegged it correct on the riches thing, money is just a tool, not something to be worshipped and saught after, as some elusive god.....friends and family are the key to "riches"....and of course....don't forget pets! have a good one, R.E.L.

Ours was pretty spontaneous, which apparently was a mistake as Fred hasn't been able to remember the date yet.

He asked me to marry him, and when I said I would he said "...then let's go do it."

So we did. May 19, 1983.
