Chickens got dihareea

My chickens seem to have dihareea here lately and man do they poop alot. I have to scrape out the coop about every couple days, I got about 60 of them. Can anybody tell me what could be the problem. They are free range during the day. I give them egg layer food. Change their water everyday.
Thanks,
Ray..

We had one bird with diahrea and it got really sluggish in one day. The poor leghorn ended up dying sometime in the evening and the diahrea came on in the morning of the same day. Watch the bird closely.

I am not talking about soft poopies. I am talking about liquid matting up the tail feathers. Big difference with the chickens. Their normal poop is soft and they do it all day long. Liquid poop is a problem.

60 birds and cleaning a coop/house every two days sounds normal to me.

Thats what chickens do, they poop alot like any bird. Diarreha is a sign of too much protien in the diet, according to one of my neighbors who worked at a major chicken farm for several years. try adding more roughage to their diet and see if this helps(alfalfa hay or grass clippings etc.)

Good luck

Shelby
