I know You ment no insult to the four legged ones bless Their hearts but tha species You refer to are of such unthinking, uncaring moral degredation as to be unworthy of mention in the presence of Porcine. Collectively perhaps We can arrive at a proper, meaningful title for them worthy of Their scummy,TRASHY, status in life. Let Us ponder even as We Pray........

Bob-
I agree about the trash that gets thrown out; someone threw out a soda bottle right in front of me today as I was going down the driveway to get my mail. I picked it up like I do the other stuff in front of my property.
For the stuff that doesn't get picked up around the countryside, I suggest that New York counties have a ready supply of individuals who would make great trash collectors. They are visiting what we now refer to as "Public Safety Facilities" (a politically correct term for "jails") and I think a little bit of roadside trash pickup should be mandatory for receiving three squares a day.
I'm always impressed with the cleanliness of some of the roads in the Carolinas; they aren't afraid to make inmates pick trash.
But back to the bottom line: you are right. The trash shouldn't be thrown there in the first place.

In this area the inmates pick up the trash and bag it. Then it's left beside the road for a few days until the county can come by and get it. Some of the bags get scattered back on the roadside. Looks like they could coordinate a little better.

You must have pushed the Bitchin button before you replied to horse crap. I agree with you they should take whatever they bring back with them.

I hope your day goes better and sorry it had to start off with city trash, I'll take horse crap anyday.

Here in Creek County, Okla. the Sherriff's Dept. has trash police. They go around and try to find who tossed the trash then go arrest them. The Judge usually just gives them a $1000.00 fine and makes them go clean it up and dispose of it properly.

I have often wondered if a letter to the editor
would help. I live near a small town, and we are
the country road the helps circle the town. So,
there has been an increase in beer cans this year
as they are cracking down on drinking and driving.
Really getting tired of it, picking up after
others. My son does get the cans or the boy
scouts. I think that's why we have so much
litter, they know someone will come along for
the cans! Or volunteers are willing to "adopt a
mile".
