Anybody else having problem with Shumway's?

Been buying stuff from Shumway's for years, but this year I'm hacked off. Ordered quite a bit of my cool-weather (spring) seed from them way back in January.

They cashed my check right away.
Didn't see anything, so the wife called them. Said they were having computer problems but that our stuff would be out shortly. With our long good experience, we were forgiving (and trusting).
Next time we called they said they had inventory problems and our stuff would be out shortly.

So, anybody else having the same problem or is my order just a fluke? Is this part of all that mess last year with a bunch of companies going under?

Shumways/Gurneys/Vermont Bean Seed Co had a warehouse fire in March--so said the notice in my seeds --ordered from Vermont Bean Seed Co. They said they all scrambled to provide service to customers' orders by borrowing from the sister companies inventories. Many of my seeds were in Gurney packages. Probably the service depended on which seeds you ordered and in what warehouse they were in.

Wish they had told me that, I'd be a little more patient. Poor management and service that ruins my produce is something I won't forgive; a fire is an accident and if it is true I'll give them another chance next year.

thanks,
TA

Brother-in-law from Indiana was visiting recently and he reported the same thing with Shumway.
I've been ordering seed but this may be my last year. We have a local store that has most of the seeds I want but I believe they like to deal with the commercial growers. I feel kind of sheepish when I ask for the smallest amount of Mountain Fresh tomato seed they can sell. I like to grow my own plants.

I also had trouble with Gurneys this year. Never have had any trouble before this one.
