Catch up a little....I've been off a week now and have another 2 weeks to go. Decided I would hunt and fish the whole time making exceptions for the few Christmas parties I have been invited to. Its been a long hard year and I really needed this time away. So far I've hunted on three plantations here in S. ga., Ive seen plenty of big deer, just not one I'd shoot.
I have taken 6 wild hogs though smallest around 170lbs.largest 240lbs. did'nt really want him but he ran me up an oak tree before I could whip out the ruger 10" 44 mag and scare him off(you just don't whip out a 44 out of a shoulder holster very fast), he just kept after me so one shot from the mag sent him flopping around.I've kept one hog and donated the rest to a couple of families here I know could use them.
Total for the first week of hunting, 28 quail,6 hogs....no deer but I have managed to see 51 so far...I hope Santa is reading this because I dropped my camera bag from 35ft up a pine tree, totaled my sony handy cam,and severally bent my digital cam....so unless Santa is reading this I wont be posting pictures for awhile. Tuesday and Wendsday I'll be hunting with my log bow on oakland plantation, Friday I''ll be Home and saturday it will be back to business hunting.
so if I don't check in before then....wish you all a Merry Christmas and a safe holiday season...
be careful out there ya'll....

best wishes from a cool s.ga(22 last night, guessers predict 19 in the am)

ohhh yeah Hey Santa just in case you are reading this please bring us some snow...a couple of feet should do the trick....

Hi ho the dearee oh a hunting we will go. Sounds like you've been enjoying yourself. Just be careful the hogs don't eat ya. Remember that movie, Ole Yeller. So, stay safe and warm and I'll be praying that if there's any snow earmarked for Maryland, that it'll blow on down to Georgia.........gfp
