Caught another rat with the electronic rat trap! 2 nites, 2 rats! Whooo! Better than having them rot in the wall... phewwww!

We got a nice ole dog, mostly basset, black and white, long hair, with a tail like a fence post.. WHACK! WHACK! WHACK! She is also a champion rat catcher. She will chase them suckers down and pounce on them like a cat, and dispatch them to that great sewer in the sky. Now, we also have a Rhodesian Ridgeback pup, she's about 4 1/2 months old and a big'un. Well, when the basset kills the rat, guards it long enough to be sure it is dead, she walks away.

That's when the overgrown pup goes over and flops down in front of the rat, and slowly raises her paw way up, then flops it down on the dead rat. At the same time she rolls her eyes upward and moans, "OwwwWWWwwwwooooOOOOOOooooo!" Funniest thing I ever saw! Can't figure our if she's giving it CPR or trying to take credit for the kill!

Oh that is funny! Reminds me of my last Cattle Dog. She killed a couple of rats, a mouse, and a couple of birds. My mother was so upset when she nailed a mocking bird in the back yard.

We were living in the city for a spell when she killed one rat, and the rat bit her good on the nose, in it's death throes. The animal control people picked up the rat to test it for rabies. I keep my pets up to date on their vaccines.
