Can not believe how quickly Christmas has come...I did not even bake any cookies this year...guess I thought I had plenty of time...Wrong...
I have found myself these past few days trying to remember Christmas before my Daddy died...I was 10...In away I think I remember it but it is so cloudy...I may talk to my brother about it and see if he can remember...He is 17 months younger than me...
Still plenty of snow on the ground and so COLD...MAtt has been working so very hard trying to keep everything up and be sure the cows and the fire are okay...He is working on the jeater now...Afraid he waited to long to put another piece of wood in it...I think I am going to suggest just using the electric heat tonight...I know he is so tired...
Dinner is at my Mammma's but my brother is acooking...he and wife are living with Mamma at present>:(..
another story in its on...
So many things to be thankful for...this time last year I was far away from home and longing to be back on this mountain..never thought I would...but here I am writing tosome wonderful new friends I was so lucky to find...
Everyone have a grand night and a wonderful Christmas...KAtG

Katy G..Merry Christmas, so sorry you have heat probs....We had an enormous ice storm 2 years ago and North Carolina went dark.. My husband bought a generator so we would never have to be so cold again.

Never mind about the cookies, although homemade are so delicious...I never make anything but Gingerbread men 'cause my brown eyed handsome man's Mother was the champion cookie maker...I still miss her, she was the perfect Mother-in law.

We were fortunate to have my Daddy until he was 83,and I am so sorry you lost yours at such a young age.

God Bless you all, and Merry Christmas to all.

Hello Kat, I've been popping in here all day so I could wish all my friends and acquaintences a Merry Christmas. This has been a great day for us. As is the custom, all our kids, grandkids and one great grand child were here for our family Christmas Eve dinner. My son picked the guitar and everybody joined in singing Carols and Christmas Hymns. They're all gone now and it's quiet once again. Already our grand-daughter sent us an email pictures album which she took here today. Tomorrow, Nancy and I will take to the road and visit other friends and relatives.

Kat, I pray you get the heater working. It's never good to depend on electric heat because of power failure. do your best to stay warm and have a Merry Christmas.....gfp
