about a year ago i read or saw on one of the documentrys that the east coast could be in for a hugh tsunami . seems there is a island out in the atlantic ocean setting on a pinacle that if it topples over would create a tidal wave that would reach 30 miles inland in some places on the east coast . sure would wipe out wasington DC .

Actually wohat you heard is true, there is an island in the atlantic that could displace a huge amount of water should theer be a landslide there. However no need to lose sleep as you would probably get about ten hours warning.

In 1973 I took an oceanography course through the University of Delaware. Some big wig with NOAA gave a speech about the fragile nature of the east coast. He claimed that between hurricanes, earthquakes global warming and other natural disasters, that the barrier island/capes along Southern Jersey, Del, Va, NC, SC and Ga would be significantly destroyed by 2030. Global warming, raising the sea level, extra pressure on the earth's crust caused by the weight of the deeper water, continental drift causing the east coast to sink slightly, storms of the Century etc. The Hatteras light which once sat 20 feet above sea level and several hundred yards from the water had to be moved before the ocean washed it down. Who knows? I sit 684 feet above sea level, just how big a Tsunami you talking bro?

If you listen to the prophets of doom then we'll be hit by a plague, an astroid, a sunanmi, and an earth shattering volcano all at the same time.

Lotta people out there like to shout WOLF at any appropriate moment just so they will feel important. Television is getting as bad as tabloid newspapers. Anything to sell advertisment. Lot of narrow minded, self flagulating, hypocrits out there. Did I mention ignorant?

Wiping out Washington DC might not be bad though! As long as it would target just the politicians.
