I paid 2oo bucks for this XP disk.I loaded the %^^$$^&* and it caught several viruses before I could get the SP things installed on a dial up modem. I learned that you need Mozilla browser .Zone alarm firewall.Anti Virus protection,Bug catchers ,Several versions.Oh yes I registered the disk before the 28 day cut off.They like all your personal data too. But the system takes a picture (digitally) of the machine it goes in.They get the mother board serial number too. Anyway,Yeasterday I was going to add a version of Linux beside this XP.(Suse 9.1 Pro) Normally it would fit in properly.But XP grabbed more room than it needed.So they clashed.Suse 9 lived but XP died.So as I had 200 bucks tied to this machine I blanked the HD to reinstall Win XP. I reloaded hours of the protectors Windows must have.Then went to re register .( 28 day limit) They say on the note.>>You can not use that copy again! Here is a tele number.You can call to see if we decide you can reinstall.BUT here is some numbers to tell the person on the phone. 57438997yhjnmn8i67455ujmm0908674545g

If you're like me, you copied at least 2 of those numbers wrong. And, since you have the wrong numbers, you'll get to shell out another bunch of money for the privilege of running a bug-infested piece of spyware.

I loaded XP over 6 months ago and have had no problems. I use Internet Explorer 6.0 as my web browser and Outlook for my email. Have not loaded Service Pack 2.

I scanned for viruses last week for the first time and had none. I do have my security options set to High Security.

My internet service provider (sbcglobal) does automatically filter email.

Maybe it's the places you visit????

That's why you have a wife to ride in the truck with you so that she can get out and open the gates for you to drive through and then close them behind you. That way you never have to get out of the cab and into the weather.
And if you don't have a wife, at least take a kid along.

From Mike T up there >> Maybe it's the places you visit????<<< I pay five bucks for Linux Xandros 2. It has a flack jacket and a riot gun.Windows XP only has ladies bloomers and runs off with my 200 bucks. You can the nicest car in town if you never get it out of the garage and drive it.

;-) Hehehe...you need to watch out for those ladies' bloomers;
they will run off with your money given half a chance.
...or so I have heard. LOL

I want a flack jacket and a riot gun to travel cyber space!!!

Chad,Bill Gates laughs all the way to the bank every day.He just clipped me for 216 bucks.Ofcourse the 16 bucks is the rebate that failed to arrive.If anyone wants a backup for the Win bug magnet.Get an extra hard drve.Plug it in.Get a copy of Xandros 2 >>(2) I know works.Add the disk to the CD rom then stand back awhile.The Best Data modem (external serial cable) works @ 40 or less shipped .Then if you crash and burn on M$ you can get back online.<><>>Lenore.Im blanking out that XP again . Our Geek pal had a better answer to the problem. Dont forget to use the Seagate disk to ZERO out M.E. When you are ready for a change in the system.
