This is not me:

Sprint SPRN-BLKS (NET-63-160-0-0-1)
63.160.0.0 - 63.175.255.255
PLATTE VALLEY INTERNET FON-106815539252545 (NET-63-170-194-0-1)
63.170.194.0 - 63.170.194.255

Why anyone would post as 'me' is beyond my ken...

Whoever it is, is giving people in Nebraska a bad name...

Hey Salmoneye    Posted 01-05-2005 at 07:02:00       [Reply]  [No Email]
This is what I was able to dig up on the IP addresses you listed in this post. There is a lot of info posted below so I hope some of it helps. The common link between these IPs is the Platte Valley Internet ISP. It may be worth a phone call to them to see what is going on. You have the exact date and time the posts were made so if you plead your case well, they just might tell you who was assigned these IPs at that time.

I tried to ping each one and received and error message. This tells me the IPs are dynamically assigned by the ISP and/or the person is making up an IP and changing it on their machine as a static IP before they get on the internet.

Happy reading.

Thanks Peanut...    Posted 01-05-2005 at 07:15:38       [Reply]  [No Email]
Pretty much had all that already...

One of the things I do in addition to these is to head over to YTMag side and use the numbers to see if there is a poster that uses them regularly...

Interestingly, there seems to be only one person that ever used that ISP...Even more interesting is that at one point he posted under his real name...I took the name and Nebraska and only 4 numbers come up with the same surname...Even more interesting is that 2 of them live within a few miles of Columbus, Nebraska...One lives in Shelby, and one lives in Lindsay...

Interesting, no?

;-)

Salmoneye,

By the way ...    Posted 01-05-2005 at 08:50:29       [Reply]  [No Email]
I just visited plattevalley.net. They're only customers are "Columbus area residents". Their exact words - not mine. You have yourself a cornshucker for an imposter.

Because this is a small ISP servicing only locals, I seriously doubt you will be able to talk them into telling you who was actually assigned to these IPs at a specific date/time. If word got out locally that they gave out private info on one of their customers, they would probably be hurt financially.

I see...    Posted 01-05-2005 at 09:06:34       [Reply]  [No Email]
You get as obsessed as I do about this stuff... LOL

I saw that exact same thing and that is why I am convinced that the person is the one I 'think'...The two numbers I came up with are both within a few miles of Columbus...

Salmoneye,

I get the feeling that you know this guy... but no prying from this direction, nope, no sir.
I WILL, however, say "-whew-!"
I was going to distrust the pharmaceutical industry even more than before, if such a thing be possible....

Vaguely remember running across the handle a couple years back on the Ford N Board, but other than that I certainly don't think that I ever upset the person...

I am probably wrong about who it is anyway...

I have lots of ugly things to say about this but I will not lower myself to his level. I feel that no responce is the best as you will just add fuel to the fire. On the other side of the coin while we got him staked down waiting on the fire ants maybe we could remove his knee caps with a dull butter knife......just for fun

Aww...    Posted 01-05-2005 at 06:44:13       [Reply]  [No Email]
You mean I don't get to use the 3/8ths drill on the knees???

I never get any fun...

While not normally a violent person, I'll gladly do great bodily harm to spammers, and A-holes like your imposter.
I would request that we stake him out at your house, as it's probably alot later in the year til the ants come out, and he could enjoy the freezing temps for an extra month before the ants do their job.
As for the moron, well I suppose registered names will need to come here soon, I'd consider popping a note off to Miss Kim, and inform her of this and request that she hold your name in reserve for you, to be used at your request.
As for the scum sucker, well here's hoping we can catch him someday, and my services will be no charge. LOL
Ron

I did manage to reserve my name over on the YTMag side...Someone had been playing the same game on some of the boards about a month back...

The other yt forums let you register your handle, looks like thats whats needed here.

Doubt if it's really a Nebraskin, probably someone that can roam the nation for ip addys.

Hey Mojo
How did the license thing work out for the 64 chevy truck?
I talked to a buddy of mine at work Monday, and he thought Mo. went to two tags in 74. He is really good at remembering things like this. His specialty is knowing the model changes in trucks. Example; 48-50 Ford pickup,51-56.68-72 chevy pickups.

All the paperwork is thru the mail so it'll be awhile before I know. The local branch has the authority to say no, but not yes or so it seems!

The IP comes back as Columbus, Nebraska and negative on the proxy...97% certainty...It 'appears' to be a direct connection to that service and not a throughput...

i just don`t understand why people do things like that! it seems that every now and again we get a troll who likes to play imposter. so sorry that they have picked you this time. if and when i see something out of character, i always check the ip#s. hang in there salmoneye, they will get board and move on.

Salmoneye    Posted 01-05-2005 at 05:31:30       [Reply]  [No Email]
Thanks Hawk...This is the 2nd time in a week and from 2 different IP's...

This one is Platte Valley, Nebraska...As far as I can find, there has only been one poster to use that IP on all of YTMag...Still looking and cross referencing...Good thing I am bored...And pissed LOL

People that go out of their way to creat disention are the eventual loosers....and loose they shall....this is not a rant....just facts....Ron.E. and this is the REAL Grove r!
