I'm looking to get layed off from my p-time job, school board is talking about out sourcing. So time to try to make some extra cash. Western PA 25 miles of Pittsburgh.

Yellow corn is what I like best and have a few good varieties. But looks like every one else like bi-color corn. And what do you all use for ear-borer and the other ear worms?

Types I like:
YELLOW

Early Choice; SE by seedway, 65 days grows cooler soils very nice ear for 65 day but
very short plant and have to crawl
to pick it. Very tasty 7 " ear

Kandy Korn ; EH by seedway, 89 Nice sweetcorn , if I would clampain about it would be flags
covering the tips, other than that
would be a nice sweetcorn.

Tuxedo; SE sweet corn good stress tolerance,
nice ear but got some bad seed a few
years ago.

Bodacious; SE 72 days is a good all round corn.

Bi color ???

White

Sliver Queen ; SU 92 day old stand by.

Any all opinions on type of good sweetcorn varieties would be apprieciated.

Thanks !! Teddy

Around here seems Argent(sp) is the corn of choice. Swwet and grows pretty steady.
If you pick the corn when the ears are first ripe I haven't had any trouble with insects.
I start planting the same day/time I plant field corn, then everytime the plants get to the four leaf state I plant some more. Keep this up till the field is full or mid June arrives. For me that's a start about the end of March till early June and the result is corn from 4th of July till September.
