... that snow my way! The weather sites have been doing the ol' bait 'n' switch on us in the Portland area for the last three days... "It'll snow for SURE on Wednesday. No, wait, make that Thursday. No, no, sorry, Saturday. Um... NEXT week?"
AGH! I just want to see a few inches of snow in the yard so my kids can have some fun. But keep the ice... last year everything froze over solid... didn't get out of the house for three days.

Well if we send you the snow you have to take the other stuff too. Sleet and freezing rain were the order of the day yesterday.

The streets now have several inches of sleet that single digit temps have frozen into a rutted mess.

Some 80,000 customers are without electricity in south central Kansas due to the ice bringing down lines and tree limbs over lines. Electric companies say some may be without power for more than a week. The governor declared 58 out of the 105 counties disaster areas.

Still want us to send the snow since you have to take the other stuff too? lol.

Hey, I very c-l-e-a-r-l-y said "a couple inches." None of that Nature's Skating Rink stuff for me!!!
It is a crying shame about those who lost their power, though. I didn't really consider that part.
Don't hate me because I'm pitiful...
(remember the old cosmetic ad? I did hate her, but mostly because she was so annoying...)

Melanie, I could never hate you because you share the same name as my daughter. I picked the name from the "Gone With the Wind" character that I so admired. She was just, fair, loving, tolerant, and forgiving to name just a few of her traits.

Anyone named Melanie has got to be pretty special.

BTW, I had forgotten about that commercial.

Since you asked so nicely we'll see what we can send you before long.

Melanie.. heh    Posted 01-05-2005 at 16:36:03       [Reply]  [No Email]
I'm pretty sure that's one of the reasons I got my name... my dad wanted "Melody," but my mom said "Melanie" was more of a traditional Southern name. And she also liked "GWTW".
Now, how accurate that character description is to me, welll.....
I'll just say I'm working on it. LOL!!!

And I forgot my handy-dandy tag changes from board to board... italic. D'oh!

Been spitting snow all day here and nothing yet. Still calling for a few inches tonight and then freezing rain turning to rain tomorrow. Will have to get out and plow the driveways before it all melts!
