I am educating myself thouroughly. Kat, I would love to become email pals with you. Sounds like you and I have a lot in common! I checked with the pharmacist, milk thistle is fine to take with the meds I am on. So, when I went with Mama to Publix today to get a few groceries, I got Milk Thistle, by Sundown, it is the Xtra kind, so it also has Dandilion root and such in it. We went through the entire store, reading labels and talking about whats good and not so good. Mama has many good books on nutrition for different parts of your body, and as a whole. She is a wealth of knowledge and is going to help me convert to my healthy lifestyle.

Kat, you pretty much hit the nail on the head, sounds like we are on the same page, except you have fixed yourself. :) I aspire to be like you :)

I am walking every day. I walked for 50 minutes yesterday and about an hour today. My diet consists of nothing with preservatives and low if any salt. No Tylenol BTW, I heard about that long time ago. Aspirin for me, if anything. The internet has really helped me learn a lot in this short amount of time. I know what I have to do, and I am going to do it, every day. For the rest of my life. Just going to have to get back to the basics. If it doesnt have a natural wrapper, don't eat it, basicly. I found a list of foods that are especially beneficial for the liver, that will help. Just a regular diet and drinking a lot of water, no junk, will be the key. I will keep y'all posted from time to time. I know everybody here will be there for me and support me, and I really need all the support I can get. :) Thanks to everybody. :)

Our family has been doing that for the last 20 years. Nothing wrong with good home cooked food leave out the pre/pared stuff and junk food. No Coke or Pepsie at all, real fruit drinks or water are better. Try to stay off all pills and take the proper Vitimans. Shelby is allmost 19 and never goes to the doctor. Carol and I don't go either unless I break something or cut myself real bad and need stiches. Keep all the excess weight off and lots of chores for excercise around here. Try to keep the stress level as low as posible that makes a big differents in your health. I do know that the rest of my brothers and sister have problems with high blood pressure, sugar dibeatis, weak ankles, bad backs ect but they are over weight by 100 lbs+ and eat tons of junk food. They eat way to much at restraunts and fast food places and drink gallons of carbinated drinks. All this has a toll on you over the years and pay back is a bummer when you get older. Hang in there change you diet and things will get better for you. Mark H.

I am proud of you Kelley... I can tell you have set your mind and now it is nothing but time that takes for you to get healthier...I did it day by day...I will write you as soon as I finish here...I know and believe in herbal meds...also in prayer..Strong support helped me through the rough spots...I still have rough times and anyone alive and truthful does too...The main thing is do NOT get discoraged...
Walking is GREAT...not only does it burn calories it is good for the mind also...I have seen the time that I thought I would go crazy if I couldn't get outside...Get you a good set of scales...some weill tell you not to weigh everyday but you do what is best for you...I weigh every evening..It was the hardest thing but when I first started my road to getting myself back I got on the scales and called MAtt to come and see what I weighed...Honey you talk about alot of backbone...I never let him know how much I weighed and hoped he won't noticed the extra 100 pounds...but he had noticed...He was and still is a great support for me...When I would not lose any for two or three weeks he would encorage me just to keep on and sure enough first thing you know I would drop 5 pounds...
I well email you before I get carried away here...lol..You have started a wonderful walk in your life and it is going to get better all the time...KAtG

hey kelly, dont mean to intrude here in ya post, but far as herbs, there are several wild herbs we harvest here in arkansas in the late summer, and so far our selves and kids havent had to be in doctors care . some for topical use and others for internal usage. guess i may be like ya mom a bit. hate paying doctors fees when a person can take care of themselves. But, ya definately need to read and be aware of any side effects or dangers involved. hope youget ya self straight and get to feeling better soon, and you will feel a lot better out there on ya 31 acres regards, robert, arkansas

Thanks Robert :) Your not intruding! I know if we can get away from the city and lead a more clean life, it will certainly help. Thanks for your support. :)

Hey TB :) I meant to answer your questions from the last post. If I consume any alcohol, I start to break out. At first the doc thought it might be an allergy, but with the test results coming back abnormal, he says that would explain it. I am ahem...well...how to put it, yes I am overweight, but I wasnt always. Its painful when half your adult life you weighed 100 pounds and then, something happened, I don't know what exactly, maybe my MIL taught me how to cook, maybe pregnancy, who knows, maybe just getting older. OH! No, I definitely DO NOT have a "bun" in the oven, NONONONONO, no more babies for me, one is all we need, want, or can afford! LOL!
