The pictures of my Holland trip are now online.
Don't expect beautiful photos of Amsterdam, it's only family members ( and 1 family dog :-)

Anyway, If you're interested, go to my website:
Gerrit's corner of the internet

and click on "Holland 2004" in the menu..

Hey Gerrit,

Nice looking family. We'll have to teach you how to decorate a Christmas tree though :^)

I like the site and the pictures.

Are you sure you wanna go there?? Do you know my older sister??? LOL
Every year she selects a certain "style" for her tree and buys her decoration stuff in special shops..

looks like you had a good time and so did the rest - i was thinking about holidays - is there a kinda special one in holland?

like in melbourne aus they have moomba - (in aborigine it means the part you sit on)- sorta a crazy days excuse to party.

here we have st urho's day (aka finlander spawning season) both happen in march.

Mornin' DC,

We have a couple of special holidays, yes. The most sigificant is Queensday - April 30th. The birthday of the queen is celebrated and all over the country it's party. Traditionally that day is a "free market" day, meaning that anybody can sell anything on the street without license or permit. In Amsterdam this is big and I mean really big. Hundreds of thousands of people come to Amsterdam to sell all kinds of stuff, prepare and sell food, life music everywhere - Party! Many people wear orange clothes ( orange is he color of the Dutch royal family )Queensday attracks lots of foreign visitors from all over the world.

Here's a picture site of an American professional photographer about Queensday 2004

Dutch all over the world celebrate Queensday.
Here's the Dutch Club of Puerto Rico's Queensday Party:
