Well he is a picture of Okanogan, Washington! This is our only trafic light and what you see is the Town. One more building behind me and you can see the last building in the picture on Main Street. People wonder why I live 12 miles out of town but if your going to live in the middle of no where it might as well be no where not in town!! If I showed you a picture taken in the 1930s it would be the same. Not many cars to need a real Trafic Light and this is a new one! Mark H.

Looks just like Paris, MO, without the snow. We are supposed to get heavy snow on Thursday, however.

I like real small towns. So much easier to deal with. Mark H.

The Town is dead after 5:00pm but this is a neat town with old buildings from the past. It has not change much over the years either. Has a couple of Bars and that is where most folks visit. Mark H.

What, no-one parked on the center line ?

You should see when a wreck happens in the intersection! People pull up to stop and slide thru it on the ice once in a while and hit another car. Nothing big but the Fire Dept rolls out and the corner fills with people now having something to watch. I have drove right thru a few times not noticing the light spacing since hardly any cars are on the road. Mark H.

When I go into the Big City like Seattle I go crazy tring to drive in trafic. I am spoiled big time. I took this picture in front of the Post Office and to go home I turn at that light go over the Okanogan River and 12 miles up a big hill. On the other side of the river there is nothing for miles. Mark H.

I found a a website; is it the same place?

Willy-N YES!    Posted 01-10-2005 at 15:19:57       [Reply]  [No Email]
That's it! That is looking over the bridge coming into town. They built this Million Dollar Bridge and it looks so out of place here. The goverment paid for most of it. That is the court house and looking thru the intersection I just posted a picture of. That is the other view if you look thru it. Mark H.

sounds like a political project. we now have "blueberry bridge" about 5 miles outa town - it's a modern concrete span with nice aluminum railings to lean a fishin pole against. 4 lanes wide, curved for high speed, cost a mint. maybe gets 4 cars/day but it's lively with beer kegs & folding chairs on saturday nite. always been the local walleye spot. :)

It was a waste of money! A outside Company built it and the Town needs so much more than a Bridge this fancy. The old one was OK but when free money is out there they will take it no matter what gets built by it. Mark H.

the bc govt. built a bridge here , they just threw the money and said put a new bridge over the creek, the contractor came into town , none of the local policitons knew anything much about it and they were wrapped up in other things, anyway the contractor built this beautiful new bridge over the creek to a "farmers house", when the news paper got wind of it and started asking questions they came right back and built another one in the right place this time , said they planned on building two anyway.
