Well the winds are now here but no snow yet? Gusting around 40MPH+ right now and 30-35 mph sustained. Not to bad but if the snow comes it will be a mess. About 13 degs out right now. Seems the winds are picking up speed tho as time goes by. It was nice out most of the day with the sun shining till around 3:00 pm. Mark H.

Hey Willy N,

Did the forcasted snow make it there? How cold are you all?

No snow made it but the winds got up to 40 mph and right now blowing around 30+ gusts at 9 degs. So it is cold out. Mark H.

that wind lasted about 6 hours here, out of the north, just left town -15 on the explorer , kept hitting cold spots and went up to -24 and here at home it went down to -22, no wind , not snowing , clear and not too bad if your dressed for it. don,t you just love all the hype the weather people put out there warning of a big storm, guess they do what they do to make their jobs secure. a weather guy once told me anything over two days and they is very little confidence in their forcast.

Mark, which way is the wind coming from. It was real windy around Spokane this morning, but our wind was from the Southwest and it got pretty warm, nearly 40 degrees. It thawed some and seemed to crust over the snow we have. I'm not so worried about drifting now--it was pure powder yesterday.

I am hoping that the wind from the Southwest will push that Arctic cold to the East of here. I sure could do without below Zero temperatures, like they have been forecasting.

Good luck with the weather. We may need it!

Ours is coming out of the North right now at 35 mph sustained winds. Temps not bad around 14 degs with no snow at all yet? Some from befor is blowing around on the ground but no new. Might be some drifts on the roads tomorrow because of the old snow but nothing bad I think. Weather man blew it worst then the wind! Mark H.

Glad your feeling a little better now! I sure could use a few days of 71 degs right now if there wasn't so much snow on the ground to mud out the whole place!! It's OK cause when summer heat comes around remembering the cold days I won't complain as much. Mark H.

While the sun was out I took the winch off my truck and fixed the "Engauge Lever Fork" I thought I broke a shear pin but all that happen was a Allen Screw came loose and could not hold the Clutch Dogs in the Drum. Easy fix and saved me 300.00 for a new set of gears which could of broke! Now it is back on the road again. Going to pick up 200 ft of 1/2" 6X26 IWRC 11.8 TON BREAKING STRENGH Cable for it. It needs new cable to be safer since it can pull a real heavy load! Hate to eat a cable in the face thru the windsheild if it broke!! Mark H.

I think a winch is a great thing. Needed one a while ago when I got stuck at my house in NY. 1" of mud and it clogged up the tires. Thank goodness for nice neighbors.
I won't drive on the lawn again when it's wet and muddy!
