the senators on the Foreign Relations Committee were supposed to be questioning Dr. Rice to determine her fitness for the job of Secretary of State. Instead, I see bloviating, grandstanding, snotty snide remarks, self-righteous chest beating, gum flapping and outright insults. What a specacle.

... turning this too political:

Wasn't the distinguished Senator one of the bunch calling Condi a "puppet of the Bush administration"?

I believe so.

Apparently John has changed his mind :^)

When he was speaking, I was driving down the road. I was almost ready to pull over for fear of falling asleep waiting for him to drone on and finally get to his question. Not sure if he ever got around to asking one or not.
He must be off the botox. I see the wrinkles are back in his forehead.

You got it. Make her look bad; make me look good. It's a sorry state of affairs. Go Condi!

I think she is a sharp person. Assuming she survives the next four years, we'll see more of her in the political future.

No this is not a paid or unpaid advertisement for Dubya. Just observations about Dr. Rice.

What I'm really waiting on is, "Who is going to be the next Secretary of Veterans Affairs?"

Mr. Principi took over with a 500,000 backlog of disability claims asnd in 4 years reduced it to 150,000 with over 200,000 new ones filed. Lots of the bureaucrats are pi$$ed at him.

During the same period almost 30% of the adjucators retired and there is a hiring freeze on in the VA. WHAT?

Somebody is going to have some big boots to fill there.

Yup, I noticed that, too, Top. They told me when I initiated my claim that it would be a year or more. That was in January. By August, it was done. Can't complain about that.
