What Would You Do

What would you do if you won, uh, say, 130 million bucks?

I saw on the aol news today that the last big winners of the Multi-state Megabucks Lottery said they would both keep their jobs.

WHOA now, hold on justa dadgum minute. Does sudden riches automatically create stupidity? If I ever came into that kind of dough I'd take about a two week vacation from my vacation and actually work for 10 or 12 days each year....gfp

I would tithe to my church.
Buy a new car and a new truck and pay window sticker price and leave those car salesmen in my dust. (It would still kill me to pay it, but would be worth not having to go through all the sales bull).
Not sure about my house, but I know I would stay in Texas.
Go on a mission trip to dig water wells in areas without clean water.
Pay my kids' debts off and set up trust funds for them.
Then do what ever I felt like doing.

Nah. Sudden riches probly didn't create stupidity. Since they won, that meant they were buyin tickets, right?

I'll take care of firsts things first.

Then jump in a plane with my husband. I want to visit my son Freddy first, he is moving from Fernandina Beach,FL, to Myrtle Beach, SC, and I love it!

I really love Myrtle Beach, have visited a couple of times back in the early 70s, when I was living in Charleston.

I've been surfing on their websites and loving what I see. Perhaps around that area we might be able to buy the Motor Home we will be needing.

And off we go..wanna see with my own eyes what you all did with your dinero del lottery.

get out of Va fast, check in at a 5 star hotel in the south seas, find a couple of beautiful women and lay on the beach and drink exotic native beverages, with my two companions. What a way to go. Incidently, it started to snow at 1 oclock, and it is cold here

Definitely retire, set up college funds for the grandkids, give much of it to my choice of charity. It would be important to me to minimize the taxes I'd hafta pay on it, since the gummint would just use it to screw up somebody's life.

I was reading something about kids and their imaginary friends and when I saw this I wondered if imaging winning the lottery was the adults imaginary friend. I've done the same. I've often wondered what it would be like to have enough money to be able to help some worthy people. Worthy people only need a little help and then they are ok. Others are just a money pit. I don't mind helping their kids but people need to be taught to help themselves. I could go on. Later, you'all

First thing I think I would hire someone to go to my job and tell them to take a hike. Next I would buy the house next door, build a 12 foot privacy fence around it and then place a huge sign over the fence facing the house I live in now and the sign would read THE HECK WITH YALL IM RICH. I would then change my phone number and go out of the friend business.

Sell this place or give it to the kids, buy myself a coupla hunnerd acres smack in the middle of nowhere, put a 12' razor-barb fence all the way around it, build a house with attached barn and garage in the middle of it and tell the rest of the world to go to Helen A. Handbasket.

i would buy 200 acres over near the Buffalo river in Arkansas and spend the rest of my years looking at it.

Me too...    Posted 01-22-2005 at 12:57:51       [Reply]  [No Email]
We would build a small cabin on a high bluff over looking the Buffalo River in the Arkansas Ozarks. It has to be one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. We have more fun taking road trips down the two lane back roads from St.Louis to the Arkansas Ozarks…it’s a scenic ride.

One of our hobbies is rock collecting/hunting; The Buffalo River area has the most unique rocks we've ever found. When we’re not collecting, we sit on the river bank and watch the river for hours...we share your vision of heaven.

i am retired and injoying life somewhat now. i would make sure that all my debts were covered then i would start helping the kids then if there was any left i would buy my wife anything she wanted(MAYBE I WOULD DO THAT FIRST) then anew pickup

Think of the fun...    Posted 01-22-2005 at 08:56:08       [Reply]  [No Email]
you could have by helping others out. I see a lot of problems that could be solved with the infusion of just a few hundred dollars.

Cha, waiting to set up his first charitable foundation, up here in Maine.

now there's a patient man - 130 million? -we're talking a whole year project if yer wife's anything like mine! lol

well i think the first thing i'd pay the taxes - then i'd have like 55 million my money, and i'd put it in the bank. even at 2%, the interest alone is over 3000/day. that's be nice - i'd learn to spend that first. :)
