jeez i hate when people are right, especially eddicated foreigners! well gerrit, dang it but i think you were. after perusing the net, alerting my pubic quarter and consulting my better half, i'll agree there's no problem with "too soft" water.

oh lord i just remembered something: at hawker de havilland in melbourne years ago, gordie offered me to patronize his wife who worked in a girlie house -- he gave me her card, claimed she liked the job and was good at it -- at the time i declined & thought it unusual --aw man you don't suppose gordie was right too, do ya? where's that card? aw maaaaan!:)

yeah their views are some different from ours - women are considered pleasure receptacles and little more. we had an 18yr-old neighbor gal clare moved in shortly after we arrived and she fit right in, leggy gorgeous gal but her BIL would get drunk and..... so she stayed with us. i thought of her as family so she was my companion/interpreter/status symbol. we were there 3 years, i was senior quality engineer on f18s and we streamlined the HDH quality system. got around enough. one afternoon i got tired of protestors so went past them & brought home 4 sailors fresh outa sydney. hickies from head/toe, they had participated, boy the stories they told! and it was nice to be among yanks for the evening. we still email clare - a good overall experience. :)

Mornin' DC,

About the soft water, I don't know how that fairytale came into the world..

And thinking about Gordie, he might have been right too LOL ( although I don't understand him, but that's a different story.. )

Melbourne, huh? I heard before you were in Australia.. Just curious, are you from there, or did you go there to work for a while?

Whenever I grow up I'd like to visit Aurtralia and New Zealand..

Actually, SWMBO wouldn't let me go alone anyway and I didn't think of going without her..

7 to 1 huh? Why did nobody tell me that when I was in my twenties??? *sigh*

I see yer point about SWMBO........when I landed in Sydney I had 13 buttons on the front flap of mah sailor suit dress blues. When I got on the plane to high-tail it outta there I wuz down to 2 buttons and numerous safety pins.......and a wheelbarrow fulla memories. :^)
