Looking for old country ballad for parents

When I was a kid my parents use to sing an old country ballad but I do not know who the artist is or the name. I would like to find it for them!
It goes something like this.

In the cold, cold walls of a prison, racked with pain and fever she lay...was a woman who called for her loved one...and over and over she'd say-

Put your arms around me....hold me close before we part...let the warm sweet tears from your blue eyes...Melt this pain in my cold, cold heart.

one of the verses wasn't:

"oh if i had the wings of a angel,
o'er these close prison walls i would fly,
i would fly to the arms of my darlin',
and there i'd be wiiilling to die"

was it? my dad used to sing that for the kids while hauling them home from country school in our 46 chevy.

i think it also went:

they will take me to new jail tomorrow
which will leave my poor darlin alone,
with these cold prison bars all around me,
and my head n a pillow of stone. let me knoww...

PRISONER'S SONG
(Guy Massey)
'24 Shapiro-Bernstein Co.

Oh if I had the wings of a little angel over these prison walls I would fly
And I'd fly to the arms of my darling and there I'd be willing to die
Now I wish I had someone to love me someone to call me their own
Oh I wish I had someone to live with cause I'm tired of living alone
[ ac.guitar ]
In my mind I have a ship on the ocean all mounted with silver and gold
And before my poor darling would suffer that ship would be anchored and sold
I'll be carried to the gallows tomorrow leaving my poor darling alone
With the cold prison bars all around me and my head neath a pillow of stone
Oh if I had the wings like an angel over these prison walls I would fly
And I'd fly to the arms of my darling and there I'd be willing to die

Avalailable on thios Sonny James Album...
