Hey lady, I just gotta chime in late, and wish you good luck again. Sorry I'm late but dispatch, scre,,, hehehe Ya thought I was gonna didn't ya.
You'll be a great dispatcher, and when it comes time to hand out "Crap" loads, just do it and call 'em crap. Tell me up front it's a crap load. My boss does it all the time, and I take 'em. Of course after 30 years I know they're part of the job, and I count on him to make it right later on. HE ALWAYS DOES.
Lots of drivers fail to recall the favors they get, as in "Would like to make my son's football game" and anniversaries, and such.
While we're on the subject of dealing dirt, don't forget that we as a group have some of the most accomplished liars known to the human race. (Drivers)
You'll soon learn to know who to trust and who not to. One of the most honorable excuses I get when I work dispatch is "I got tired and pulled over and slept, or overslept!" It hurts the company, and makes life rough with that customer but nobody's family got killed by that driver that night.
Just treat them all fair, and you'll soon learn the short timers from the gonna stay drivers.
Good luck, and see if you can find me a gravy load that gets me home early Friday.
Ron
PS I scheduled a case of the flu for Sunday night, so I won't be able to run... NOOOOOO it has nothing to do with any superbowl party. hehehehe
