Spent part of the day finishing a stall in the barn. My 8 year old daughter wanted to hammer some nails, so I gave her a piece of wood and a couple of nails. I thought I had everything cleaned up. tonight I went out to the barn to retrieve a pliers for a kitchen project and found her board, half buried in straw with the nail sticking up. Of course I found it with my foot, right through the bottom of my sneaker. and about a half inch into the foot. Now I 'm trying to remember when I had my last tetnus shot. The wound bled quite a bit. Was it two years ago or three that I went to the dr for that shot? Oh well, for you folks who let their kids bang some nails to "help" be careful where the kids leave their projects.

Well the doc says my tetnus shot is ood for ten years, but I should be on Antibiotics. Prescribed something called Cipro. The pharmacist says thats one of the most expensive there is. And it handles anthrax too. Gees.

Helped tear down a chicken house at about age 15. Got one through the boot. Kept going. About an hour later, one in the other foot. Trip to the local doc. Like to come off the table when he gouged around inside the holes with antiseptic.

No more in the last 25 years, knock on wood!

If it was 2 or 3 you're good, tetanus shots are good for several years. You could always get one to be sure, tho

Last time I had possiable need The Doc said 7 years but popped Me anyway. Not sure if it was to be safe or if He needed more cow feed.
If it bled real good I'd expect You are safe anyway but on tha other hand Tetnus is a lousey way ta find out otherwise!!!!!!IMHO
