Japanese Food

Took the wife and kids to a Jap restaurant where they cook it in front of you last night. Highly entertaining and the food was delicious. We'd gotten 10 miles toward home when the wife decreetly asks where the next rest area might be, it was 2 miles ahead (on the interstate). Before we got there she was doing her own version of a lap dance in the seat! The rest of the trip was uneventful til 20 miles from home (100 mile trip)I got a headache like a hatchet in between my eyes. Made it in the house and immediately laid down, 5 minutes later I toss my cookies. Been along time since I had to hang on to the sheets to stay in bed (reminded me why I quit drinking!).
It must of been the scallops. We all shared everything, except the wife only had one scallop and I had the other 10. That'll teach me to not share more!
They were wonderfully nice people and the place was spotless (and expensive), should I call when they open today and tell them about my suspicions? I'm not concerned about the money, the looks on the kids faces when he lit the grille on fire and watching them use chop sticks was more than worth it. Just wouldn't wish an illness like that on anyone else.

and only as a thought...Many Oriental restaurants use MSG as a flavor enhancer. Many folks are very sensitive to MSG,suffering severe reaction to it..You might google it to see whats what.

Hey mojo

Yes, call the restaurant today.

Also call the Center for Disease Control (CDC). I am not sure if your next of the woods in MO has the billboards or not but mice has them that encourage people to report food poisoning. The CDC will make sure you and your wife are OK and theyll check on the restaurant. They track all the cases that are reported.

You aren't getting anyone in trouble. You are simply reporting your symptoms and the food you ate. Have a list of the things you ate written down when you contact them.

There are two types of food poisoning. Most folks attribute a stomach "bug" to the most common. Yopu get the runs and perhaps throw up for about 24-48 hours. The other is continuing runs/vomiting. You risk severe dehydration and nutrient depletion in this case.

Do yourself and your wife a favor and get a hold of the restaurant and the CDC today or tomorrow.

Glad you enjoyed your evening. I hope you feel better today. Click on the link for more info.

Sorry for the typos.

I meant to say our neck of the woods in MO has billboards that encourage people to report this.

I guess I should proofread once in a while.
