Woody Farm Report

Cramps in the thigh muscles last night’s at bed time sure kept me on my feet further into the evening. I knew I shouldn’t have helped the miller. It was only once carrying away a single 1”x14” - 12’ full board.
This morning warming up nicely. Miller coming back Monday.

Picked up some sawdust while I did the chores dropping off a hundred pounds or so in the shop. Had thought about working on second secret project code named “Gate Opener.” This one‘s utility will be half that of the first one already nearing test stages. But, so it goes keeping the home fires burning I had to take on home’s works. There aren’t any good conduct stars for this good husbandly behavior.. Just enjoying my buns warmed by the fire.
So, this afternoon I have took to splitting what I could get up the remaining wooden blocks laying about front-side yard. I wanted to clean up that old mess before adding to it. Really rearranging it neatly back along the pasture fence, making it easier for Summer mowing neatening up that side yard. And, now to keep wood cutting interesting, just a few yards away there’s a pile of slab wood needing/waiting my attention, making all that into wood burning stove lengths.

Having found a block of Mulberry I set it to one side to cover an old IOU for a neighbor’s part I had needed a couple years ago. Although it was not of the quality he justly deserves at least I delivered what I had this evening on account, before doing chores. The big holiday weekend such as it is seems everybody’s got super football routing/celebration plans for this evening.

I managed to load the truck with wood. Looking at good weather diminishing here over the next few days, using some poly-tarp rejects I managed to cover most of the milled lumber, this ageing mind remembering where I might have scrounged a couple more pieces. Oh well. I’ve taken my tummy rattlers and thinking supper. After that my evening is my own unloading the truck’s fire wood load into the house, before it gets any wetter…

So, this friends is this day’s Farm report. If any of it makes little sense, please to allow me at least a smidgen of slack.

Good Evening
Fernan

Slack, you want slack!!! I'll give ya all the slack ya need. Come in here after three days of not posting and acting just like everything is alright. Start right out complaining with cramps in your legs and complaining that the sawmill man didn't bring enough help. My oh my, how much do you expect us to endure? Better hope Clipper don't see this. How am I doing so far?

Anyway fern ole, no, scratch ole and make that a definate old, buddy, I really did enjoy your report. All I'm about is getting in shape to do a little Monday Morning Superbowl Quarterbacking. That's the reason for the rant LMHO.

Try to be on time for coffee tomorrow, dad...gfp
