kats problem has brought up something im sure most of have had to deal with at one time or another. why don,t we post any legal ways that we have come up with to deal with the, dug posted one on the home site about getting hogs as the prevalling wind with blow the smell in the right direction.after we post the legal ways maybe we could start another one with alternative ways to deal with these jerks.hmmm got some ideas that way.lol

I would hope that the law helps you with your problems, in the mean time try to keep your mind off of the problem. Here are some suggestions ;-)

How about blowing your steam whistle or diesel horns have a collection then try them all out. A steam calliope would be such a nice thing to hear.

Large burn piles with nice smoky material for when they are outside so they can enjoy the beautiful sight of the flames leaping skyward (get a burn permit if required and keep the proper distance from the property line)

Are explosives legal to use in your area? If so remove those stumps that you always wanted to take care of, or that bit of rock that is out in the field.

Remember that some of your other neighbors may need help burning, blasting, or playing with noisy toys. Offer to give them a hand and enjoy their company.

That kid's money will run out withn a year. His place will be foreclosed on, after he trashs it.
He'll move somewhere else and sponge off of some relative, or girlfriend, that is if he isn't in jail. He is temporary, summer will be the hardest test for Kat & Matt. By winter things will begin to improve. By next spring the place will be up for sale again. Start figuring a way to buy it.
In the meantime keep on calling the cops whenever the need arises.

Like I said, seen it before.

I think they would first need to figure out what
their goal was, play the one up manship game
or get em off their back. If you want to get them
off your back I'd say do as Fern suggests and
document, make the calls take the pics.

If you start playing games they may just be
smart enough to figure out to start
documenting what you do and if it would go to
court they could whip out their documentation
and prove a case against you or "show " they
were just giving back what they were being
handed.

If you're looking to annoy innocently I'd shy
from burning stuff or leaving tainted gas ets.,
be more innocent. Maybe as suggested, buy
pigs. You have a herd, spread lots of manure -
if youens have a lagoon, that would gag a
magot. Nothin burns the nose like liquid dairy
manure. On the same note throw the aggitator
in and just stir the lagoon up a bit.

If they're party animals I'd wait til early sat. or
sun. morning to cut wood with a tractor
mounted buzz saw ( I could loan ya one ),
shoot the fox in the hen house several dozen
time with the 12 ga. Fire up ole' Bets and do
some work that has her diggin in the gov.

Just do things that are "normal " farm
functions but plan them when most
advantageous to you.

Real hard one to tell someone what to do not being there. Shooting back can land you in jail except for certain reasons but if you are waiting for them with a loaded wepon it could be called pre meditated murder not self defence!! Pay backs can lead to more problems and you have to be ready for pay backs if you return the favor. Restraining orders and police intervention is the best way. If I was shot at I would sure be pressing charges but not hunting them down and going to jail for that. I have a whole list of things I would do but they would not know who did it. When dealing with punks you need to deal back the same way but be ready to back it up. If I was them I would involve the police full forse till it is resolved and try not to confront them on there terms. Mark H.

no no only suggestions , things that won,t land you in jail, excample i have old hay left over every year thats not good for feed, sure makes alot of smoke, when it,s about a hunder out it is nice to sit outside in the evening and light some of this in the fire pit, keeps the mosquitoes down, but at the same time the eveing breezes pushes this smoke over to the neighbours who lives in a trailer, , only windows he can open that time of the day to cool down the trailer is facing me, either he puts up with the smoke or closes his windows and it quickly heats up it the trailer. course now if he ever did get enough guts to take a swing at me in self defense id send him somewheres he never have to worry about such trivial things anymore course the say he!! is hot too.lol

Trouble is his middle name. Peanut can get himself in some real messy situations but his heart is always in the right place. I sure do love him anyway. He keeps life interesting. Are ya sure you two are not related?

could be i seem to find myself in some strange situations as well , seems the more i try to do the right thing the more somebody else tries to do the wrong thing.have you heard this story before lol.

You're right Mark. I should not have typed that.

Please ignore that part of my post.

I tend to fight fire with more fire. Yes, it has gotten me in trouble before.

Willy-N    Posted 02-07-2005 at 18:50:17       [Reply]  [No Email]
I do to but I was thinking if I was in there shoes and they said Matt has had a bad heart and they are older than me also. Now if it is aloud to shoot on your place where they live 7 shots would be nothing. I would get up the next morning real early to site in the old Mini-14 and start off with the 30 shot Mag first seeing how fast I could empty it! Then I would slap in another a few times in a row till the barrle was hot lay it down grab the 12 gauge and empty it a few times with 3" magume loads as fast as I could. After they heard over 100 rounds go off in less then a minuite they probley would think I was crazy and put there .22 cal up for a long time let alone think of poping off a few rounds at me later on! I like Toolmans idea of burning some old hay to get rid of it when the wind is just right! That stuff sure stinks when it smolders all day long. Mark H.

toolman    Posted 02-07-2005 at 18:58:49       [Reply]  [No Email]
well if they live on a dirt road hit the gas when when you pass by , dust on a hot summers day can sure mess things up for them too,and depending what kind of lifestyle you used to have in your OTHER life, you could always invite out the ole gangfor a weekend party, heck even invite them over to look at all the choppers, course tell all your ole buddies what terrible neighbours they are and sit back and let nature take its course.and with all the emptys that you pick up on monday moring you,ll be able to buy some favorite tools that you couldn,t afford before.like ya siad willy give them waht they been dishing out only ten fold, sooner or later they ,ll get the idea that you won,t be messed with.

Peanut    Posted 02-07-2005 at 19:12:42       [Reply]  [No Email]
Speaking of burning.

No, I am not going to suggest burning their place down.

Tires smell awful and burn forever. As long as there are no burn ordinances ... make yourself a little burn pit and light it up.

Also stinky is the burning wood from a Sycamore Tree. The smoke can actually make someone (a crappy neighbor for example) rather sick to their stomach. We have lots of these trees in MO. How about in Kat's neck of the woods?

Like I said I tend to fight fire with more fire. My first reaction with punks is to put the fear of God in them and I tend to use unnusual ways to do it. Maybe I better stay out of this post. LOL

Willy-N    Posted 02-07-2005 at 19:05:59       [Reply]  [No Email]
I am sure for a few bucks you could hire a couple of real big guys to go over and tell them they better leave there freinds alone and quit causing trouble for them. Punks don't like big guys at there door more than once! Mark H.

toolman    Posted 02-07-2005 at 23:29:31       [Reply]  [No Email]
mark you and peanut sure come up with some good ideas , i knew there was a reason i like you two lol.punks like that don,t usually have much backbone anyway and as soon as they get put in their place , they are not so tough anymore.

Peanut    Posted 02-07-2005 at 17:59:22       [Reply]  [No Email]
Awe Hollie, I thought CSI was real-life stuff. Now what am I supposed to think ... next you'll tell me that pro wrestling is fake. LOL

I can offer an alternate way. Hollie wont like it but here it is: Shoot back! And don't miss. Wouldn't that be self-defense?

A legal way is to do what I offered to KellyGA a while back: Get some skunk scent or fox urine (hunting scent covers) and apply liberally on your side of the property line. Of course this assumes the winds blow toward their place. This is not near as messy as getting hogs. Although you can't get a ham steak from a bottle of fox urine.

Dug    Posted 02-07-2005 at 18:39:21       [Reply]  [No Email]
Hogs aren't messy, they just smell bad. Kinda like my ex-wife, but we won't dwell on that!

Another thing I'm gonna do this spring before I bring the hogs in, I plan to burn the field. You know, clean off all the old growth, helps rejuvinate things. The field is about 10 acres and with all the rain we had last year, lots of grass to burn off. And with that wind blowing across to the neighbors house, well... oops, I shoulda known better...

ok, collections are now being taken for bail...LMAO...if ya shoot back...and who says i wouldn't like it? heck...everyone knows i keep a 45 glock and a 9mm sig loaded and ready...i made toooooo many enemys...but seariously...stay on track with the police first...yes keep a list of what has happened...and report EVERYTHING...that makes the officer do some much dreaded paperwork..and that my friend is called a paper trail...it will be needed..and all this is fine and dandy but goes out the window if your PA is a shicken shict....keep that in mind...its up to him if he wants to file on it or not...(and peanut, i'm looking forward to this summer...if your this close, i say you get first turn on the ol tube behind my boat) hehehehe...

You got it    Posted 02-07-2005 at 18:30:04       [Reply]  [No Email]
We have a little 18ft ski/fish boat and a big ole tube. We worked on the farm so much last summer we only put the boat in the water less than 10 times. Thats a shame when we are up there so much.

We'll have to get together soon.

At last, something i can talk about...~I spent 18 yrs copping...so maybe i can shed some "SOME" light on the deal....as i understand it...they are staying on their own property right? there was a comment made about finding a beer can? can't prove that it came from them..and dont' say take prints...it takes at least 6 months here in mo. to get a print back...and then only get a match if the person has been printed befor..(people watch too much tv, ruins how it works in the real world)....sure, talking to the police is a start...can check and see if the county has any tort laws for peace disturbances...but my guess is civil court...i need more info in order to make further comments......

Rather than burn that old hay, call me and I will pick it up, love spoiled hay for the garden. makes good mulch. Hate to see it go to waste. Burning old carpets make a he*****a stink. Maybe the epa would come out on that one.

toolman    Posted 02-08-2005 at 01:20:10       [Reply]  [No Email]
i can,t even give it away aroung here, now i used to pitch fork the stuff of the wooden floor in the barn onto the pickup and haul it into town and give it away, also haul old bales into them , couldn,t get them to drive out 5 miles if my life depended on it, now it seems it is just to much work to put it on their garden and im not doing that so i burn it now, sad huh.

KatG    Posted 02-07-2005 at 18:32:16       [Reply]  [Send Email]
Well darn Hollie forgot all about you being a police officer unitl now...This has been a hectic last week days...In fact I think I will try and go to bed after this post...We are so tired..The punks left after the cop came out the last time and for as I know hasn't been back...
They land adjoins our pasture...which is about half an acre away from the house. The house is usually full of young men...never seen anything female up there..Seems that this fellow bought this place with a settlement he got from his parents death awhile back...Grandpa of this fellow told MAtt that all the kids got $55,000...and have been going and blowing...The fellow next door doesn't work...they sleep all day and roam around all night...Our cattle is in the pasture next to his yard and our barn is there also...They rip and roar on these ATV's all around their yard...ruined their yard...but that is their business...Trying to milk a cow with all this going on is almost next to impossible...The cop told them no noise after 7:00 pm and NO MORE shooting...and that if he came back they would get a ticket for disturbing the pease but the cop told us the judge probably wouldn't do anything but give them a small fine...WE are mad...now I am scared...and feel violated...Cops says we have no ordainances out here...BAsically he can make a racetrack in his yard even if it does ruin our lifes...Seems unfair...What is you take on this???...Thanks...KAtG

Hollie    Posted 02-07-2005 at 18:55:38       [Reply]  [No Email]
i say get yourself a new cop...why didn't he document his time there? why not write a written warning citation so there is proof? and its not up to the judge...its up to the pa....make an appointment with him...go over the cops head..its your right....tell him what has happened....he'll tell you (or should) what elements he'll need to make the case...thats what i would do...dont' go to the judge...or if and when it goes to court he'll have to excuse himself because he has "prior knowledge"...take pics with you when you see the pa...and...if the kids are going through the money like it sounds, they won't be able to pay taxes and it will go up for sale on the court house steps..then go in hock and buy it...people around here always buy up land on either side of em if possible to stop stuff like that...dang, sorry ya had such bad luck..hang in there hon.

toolman    Posted 02-08-2005 at 05:41:34       [Reply]  [No Email]
hey did you used to be a cop, . must be a high strees job i would think especially if you were in a big city with alot of bad crime.i see on the news up here in canada alot of what goes on in the states and i often wonder how the police and others deal with all the death and other stuff they see everyday, must be tough.we do have bad crime here but it is mostly limited to the larger cities and we don,t have a whole lot of them lol and nothing like LA and some other cities .nice to meet you also.
