Erosion Control in Front Yard (on a small scale)
[Return to Topics]

Our house sits on the highest point of 3 acres.
So with the gentle slope away from the south
side of the house water runoff causes erosion.
Dirt was running onto the sidewalk, so I made
husband clean out gutters, took down 2 old trees
that kept filling the gutters with its debri,
and put white rock in eroded spot. The white rock
has helped, but we have a huge lab, who displaces
the rock. I noticed on the south side she has a big dirt path leading to the back yard. It now
fills in with water, gets muddy, looks unattractive. Erosion is taking place there, too.
Suggestions for what I can do, or should I call
our friend who is a landscaper for help?

git rid of the lab would be the best solution.
