Hey folks my wife wants to buy a new 2005 Subaru Forester. Has anyone had any good or bad reports on them? Were out shopping for one this week, going to three dealers to get some prices. She would like a new car befor she retires to get her thru the "Golden Years" I'll stick with my 78 four wheel drive chevy pick-up truck.

The plant is north of indy.

We have a outback wagon. I like the ride better than when I tried forest. The little zippy one is fun also. Great car. Better than the Accura I had. 100k+ miles.

Obie..........once Subaru gott ridd of the "taint" of the Malcolm Brickland imported 350 Subaru debacle of the 1970's, the Wisconson built Subaru's have come a long way. As a longtime BMW owner/driver, I'm impressed with their "road-manners". Their 4WD scheme (based upon Harry Ferguson Formula-1 Racing design of England's TO-Tractors fame) is topdrawer as is their watercooled flat-4 engine. I haven't noticed many "rust-bucketts" (yet?), but modern automobiles are gitting better de-rusting prevention treatment.........Dell

I know 2 people with them. They wouldn't drive anything else. One is pretty much city driving, the other is a serious year round camper and hiker. Lots of backroad travel through rain, snow, etc.

we "leased" a 2004 forester. my wife drives it about 97% of the time and she loves it! i like it too. the traction on snow is unbelieveable.
the only con for me is that it has a low brake pedal. the dealer has said that that is normal for suburu vehicles.

I did not know they dropped cars, trucks, cameras, VCRs, and TVs, On Pearl harbor. Sure did a lot of destruction and left 2,300 dead US servicemen. Who ever buys a Japanese product when they can buy American sure does not have any loyalty to the companies that made it possible to still have English as a first language
