This is our new report only 19% of Normal Snow Pack this year! Going to be a nasty Fire Season for Washington and Oregon this year.
Report;
VERY DRY CONDITIONS PERSIST ACROSS NORTHWEST OREGON AND SOUTHWEST
WASHINGTON AS JANUARY 2005 COMPLETED THE 3RD STRAIGHT MONTH WITH
BELOW NORMAL PRECIPITATION. MOST RECORDING STATIONS AROUND THE AREA
HAD RAINFALL LAST MONTH WHICH RANKED JANUARY 2005 IN THE TOP 10
DRIEST MONTHS ON RECORD. EVEN MORE SERIOUS...THE NOVEMBER
2004-JANUARY 2005 RAINFALL TOTALS AT MOST LOCATIONS REPRESENT LESS
THAN HALF THE NORMAL RAINFALL THAT WOULD BE EXPECTED DURING THIS
PERIOD. IN ADDITION...SNOWPACK IN THE NORTH OREGON AND SOUTH
WASHINGTON CASCADES IS ONLY 19% OF NORMAL AND ONLY COMPARABLE TO THE
MEAGER SNOWPACKS IN THE WINTERS OF 1976-1977 AND 1980-1981.

During those years we had some of the worst fire seasons on record. Mark H.

Sure could use some of your rain! Right now a few states below (California) is getting dumped on for rain. Canada is also getting the rain above up it seems to be spliting above and below and leaving us dry in the middle. The only good part is it means more work for me but lots of people homes and property will be in danger. I haven't seen a Coguar around here for a while. After the big fire a few years back a lot of the wild life left the area for better pickings. Mark H.

we,re not getting anything mark, no rain or snow, dry here as well , a little way up north on the north coast, we were about 40 % of normal as of dec 04 haven,t seen anything sense , the west is gonna burn this summer if we don,t have a lot of rain.

You better sell your place fast befor fire season hits! People tend to get nervos when things are a burning living in the country here. Mark H.

some did , nothing that we had to prepare to get out on but it could of changed fast if the wind changed, we actually had one of the biggest ones around about 10 miles as the crow flies , but they tried to keep a lid on it because they didn,t want to scare of the tourists, and most of the smoke was blowing south and east into montana and alberta, but we have some bad bug kill on the ridge above our place now, i met with the logging company a couple of weeks ago , they wanted to log it this winter but it has been to wet , they will try early summer , if that gets going it sure could turn out bad.
