Ran across a 1954 ( I tink ) Wd all original
including owner, lived in the barn all it's farm

$2000 for it

Mark we paid $800.00 for a well used one mebbe 10-12 years ago. We are in the process of rebuilding the engine right now and we'll have that much or more in it. So if you're finding one that's in that good a shape, I'd get my ski mask on and head on over there.

I've also go an eye an another that the guy put
$700 into clutches plus an engine overhaul
and added a loader . He wants the same price
but he has a JD he has to go to Iowa for
before he'll part with the Allis.

Then there's the question of what to do with
the ones I have. Keep using them as is, major
them, use them for parts or sell them...... Nah,
don't think I could sell one.

The H was my first so I'm pretty sure that one
will get restored sometime. It makes a nice
shuffle tractor so I hate to have it down for any
length of time.

If I want to drive it home now and freeze ma
face off or wait til it warms up. I'm kinda leanin
towards face freezein.

If it has been sitting for a long time, I'd be thinking roll-back to transport it.

BTW, what year, make is it?

An Allis WD, said it was the last year they were
made. That was 54 wasn't it?

I imagine I'll probably get a trailer to transport,
it's close but still just far enough away...
although on a warm spring day it would be a
fun ride

Your 'find' reminds me of a real heartbreaker that happened to me some years back. Mom & Dad's neighbor had a WD-45 with a Woods belly mower and a D-17 at his place. He was very particular about maintaining them. He could no longer keep them at his farm because of thefts and vandalism so they were sitting behind his house. He died and the tractors sat there for some time and then one day I noticed they were gone. I asked Dad about them. He told me the widow came to him and said she wanted to sell them and was $750 apiece OK to ask for them. Dad told her they were worth a lot more than that. She wound up selling them for $1000 each! If I'd known about it I'd have bought them both for that price, cleaned them up a little, (they sat under a sweet gum tree) and sold one, probably the D17, for at least enough to pay for them both. Oh well, it took a while but I'm over it now...... mostly.

My greatest fear, all my stuff being sold for a
song. I think I'll buy an acre of plots and have it
all buried with me ; ) Wonder if a corpse will
need a firearms permit in the future

I thought about using my will to inflict my kids
with my stuff but they look at it the same way
ma does.

WHAT?!?!?!?!?? You mean I can't take my tractors with me?!?!??? If they don't allow John Deeres in Heaven I just might have to re-think this......
(That is if Heaven is an option for me.)
