drove out to see my girlfriend for the weekend (she is interning for the house of reps out there) about 14 1/2 hrs. to get there from ohio. must say, some nice country side. never been out west before. got a couple questions though. what is it that make the soil so red/orange ? mine is deep brown/black. is it rich soil and what can you grow in it. and in missouri, whats with the letters on every exit ramp, never seen that before. i traveled I 40, I35,I44, I55,I70. would love to live out there someday. hope i didnt ramble on to much. thanks.

red clay....you can almost see the cut off line where the soil changes just south of about 50 miles. there is a lttle town just north east of OKC thats called Pink, and the soil is almost pink, that red clay really stands out on trucks and cars down there. egh

yeah, i know what you mean by showing on the cars. i seen a few that looked like they were spray painted that color. i wanted to get off the paved roads so i could bring home some of that red on my jeep, but the ol'lady wasnt to keen on that. (she knows how i get on the back roads around here. lol)
