Our mobile home burned and we lived in a travel trailer until the insurance was settled and we bought another and had it moved on our land...It was a 24 foot I belive and very nice...but let me tell you...when it is rainy and cold..unable to get outside to get alittle breathing room it can cause difficulty in a thought I would go nuts...but you do what you have to do...It worked out...we lived in it about 6 weeks..Long enough for me...KAtG

Pretty common around here. Something I remember from the 50's and 60's is making a comback. People put in a basement, live in it while the house is being built. Folks down the road just moved "upstairs" after about three years in the basement.

It's happening as we brother is building a small cabin for my dad and right behind it is a 32 foot 5th wheel. It was the best idea for them...that way brother and gf have their space in their cabin (also on the property) and daddy can watch his new home go up...and he wanted to visit us for we just hooked on to his 5th wheel and parked it in our back yard for a month...then back to his place he went...(we flip flop dad back and forth between us kids sense mom passed away 2 yrs this april)

Fairly common around here for young couples in rural areas to buy/live in a trailer for a few yrs, then build house on same property and emove the trailer once their lives are established.Sometimes its a yr by year thing as to putting in/capping basement one yr,putting up shell later, and finishing still later as can be afforded.Be aware though that some areas have time limits on"temporary" placement of trailers.

I know several people who did that...lived on site
in a trailer or mobil home while building then either sold the trailer or used it at other property for a camp etc.
