it seems to me that people that eat slow and methodically live longer unlike us folks that gulp and run. it may have something to do with type a's and b's.
by the time my wife eats one piece of pizza i usually eat three or four. (lite snack)
FWIW

that old sayin

'If you eat slow you'll eat less, ask anyone in a large family.'

had a weight problem most of my early life. when i visited a dietician she recommended chewing each bite 20 times and put the fork down between bites, that simple change resulted in a 10lb. loss in 3 mo. the next thing she taught me was to fill my dinner plate 1/2 full of low cal veggies and split the other half between meat and starch. i loss 40 lbs that year and have never put it back in 10 yrs. when we gulp or food or just eat without thinking we just eat too much.

good advice donna - like that world's easiest exercise plan: "place both hands on the edge of the table - now push." i must eat 6-7 fruits/day. but i can go right by the candy rack! :)

If ya eat slow, you generally eat less. Takes about 10 minutes for hunger pains to subside regardless how fast or slow you eat. If you eat slow, the hunger pains will subside and you will quit eating.
