i've seen this a couple times now so here's the deal: before you can post a picture with a message, it MUST have a URL (or in other words, a web address, the "http://" thingy in your address window above - must be in somebody's online file somewhere.) it can't go from your computer file to this message board unless it's uploaded first.

there are several ways to upload it & give it a URL - let's look at 2 ways.

maybe the easiest way is to follow the directions in the photo album, pick a picture from your file (behind that button is a buncha stuff, including an FTP capability that can bring an image from your file to the album, assign it a URL, [fr instance,] and display that image for us) okay you post it in the album, THEN use your right mouse button to select "properties" and copy the new web address of that picture, paste it in the Optional Image URL window down below and the message loader will take care of the rest.
there's another way to post an online picture: again, use your right mouse button to select "properties" and copy the web address of that picture, [for example, it might be [img]]. now that your mouse is saving its copy, just paste that here - then add the jibberish in front and behind that URL and it will show up. CAUTION and here's a common error -- BE SURE that URL begins with http:// and ends with the picture type (either .jpg, .bmp, .tiff or .gif - cut the [img] part out - it already knows it's supposed to display an image.
okay let's try to display that photobucket image we were just looking at:
i'll paste the URL -- [img]]. --trim it so it starts & ends right -- -- add the image source glop to the front -- img src=" -- and quotes to the back -- img src="" --- NOW, i can use the arrows (> <) the thing is - anything between arrows does not show up in the message - it's a sorta hidden command. one more thing, here's a < br > (without the spaces) that tells it to leave a space so let's add that right before the image -- otherwise our message will appear beside the image. okay here goes --

here i didn't use the br break - that's why this writing is with the image. at the top of your screen, if you click VIEW then SOURCE you can see exactly how that was done.

what you need is a free copy of irfanview - that little prgram is amazing! there's a whole list of things to do with images (including sharpen, resize etc) do a google search, let it load, stuff a picture in it & start experimenting. :)
