Yup, I did have a great Birthday, yesterday.

Friday evening we went down to Spencer, to
Dana's Barbecue, for a nice little dinner.
We both had the rib-tips, with french fries & Smoke-house Beans. Best sauce in Indiana.
I had a couple of Dos Equis, in Amber.
Sharon drove me home.

We got me(& us,)a new .22 Henry lever action
rifle. & Sharon has me some new "Leather"
ordered,..........actually it's a new holster for the .45 Colt Commander that is my regular companion.

Then last night she wanted to take me out to dinner. So we went over to Bloomington for a little Mexican, at Casa Brava. Good food, but I over ate, a tamale, burrito, & enchilada with
beans & rice on the side. Can't believe I ate the whole thing.
Reminded me of the old days around Corpus Christi
& Alice, some 40 years ago.Back then I was scraping & painting on TV towers. Man, couldn't do that now.

All in all it wasn't too bad turning 65.
Except with all this sitting around, I'm up to
257#. I really gotta work on that, hunnh.
Spring is on the way............
Thanks again, Lenore.
Y'all have a good-un.
'Til later,
Old John

I wasn't here yesterday, and haven't read all the threads yet, so I missed your party greetings.:-)

Happy Birthday, John! May you be blessed with many many more of those to celebrate the way you like it!!

Say hi to Sharon from us, down here by the Caribbean!

John, why did you decide to call yourself "Old John"? At only 65, there are some who would call you a Spring Chicken.....take Fern for instance.
I know 'cause he is about 360 days more or less than myself.

Now, about that 257 pounds....that's alright if you are somewhere in the neighborhood of 7 feet 6 inches tall. But, if you're down in the standard height range, you might want to stay away from those BBQ houses and Mexican Resturants. Er,..ah.. er, you'll wind up like me, carrying more weight than your bones can support.

Anyway, Happy day late Birthday.....gfp

Hi Alias & Y'all,

Well, I'm the oldest of nine, w/ seven brothers.
They stasrted calling my Old John.
& Most of the guys I worked w/ at Ford in Indy
were younger'n me, so there you are.
Actually, I'm pretty lucky to get around real well.
I LOVE to eat out. One of my favorite endeavors.
I have put on 27#'s since I retired on 1 Nov 03.
I'm only about 6'. I used to be 6'1" but yeash,
Lotsa good Dinners & Lotsa Home-brewed barley-pops.And GALLONS of Ice-cream, LOVE Ice-Cream.
That'll do it.
Starting to work on the weight, TODAY!
I'm embarrassed.
Have a good-un...........
'Til Later,
Old John

Now what I meant to say is the Fern is older than me by about 360 days. All I want to know is how is it he can do so much in a day at his age..gfp
