What is your favorite meat broiler chicken breed
and turkey breed... How long out to you keep them
and what is your best feeding program? Just
thinking about some 8 weeke

I used to go with the Kosher Kings but, the last few years we have raised the Cornish Cross Giants and both have done well for us. I keep them about twelve weeks and they usually go about 6-7 pounds each at butcher time.

I use chick starter the first three or four weeks and then switch them over to the same feed I use for my pigs. I get it from a local farmer and it's way cheaper then the commercial stuff and no chemicles. I do have to use electrolytes and vitamins in the water or they will have leg problems from growing too fast.

when they get their place, i'm carving a big sign ----- "RETIRED ROOSTER RANCH" lol - i can imagine a row of chook-sized recliners in the sun - little palm trees around!
