My wife's uncle that has a collection of about a dozen Olivers, some restored some not. I've told him about this site but they are not online with their computer. So I would like to copy some conversations without all the extra things on the borders etc. to show him what he's missing. When I left click the text and drag down the text gets highlighted. But the cut and paste options aren't in bold to be able to use those. How can I copy just the conversations? When I do "print" it prints everything even tho only some is highlighted. Thanks for any help. Love this site!

GeneSC's way works good for one post at a time...If you want to copy and paste a bunch into one Word, Wordpad or Notepad document, highlight the text the way Hollie suggested and then 'right-click' and then click 'copy' from the small box that appears...Then left click in the text box where you want to paste and then right click and hit 'paste'...The text will paste to where you clicked your cursor...

You can also highlight the text you want to copy and press 'ctrl+c' at the same time...This is keyboard command for copy...Then click where you want to paste and press 'ctrl+v' which is keyboard command for paste...

If Hollie's suggestion doesn't work try highlighting
your text,Go to file, click on print, and when your
print window opens up click on "Selection" it should
print only your highlighted section.
(learned that from Peanut on "Computer Nubies")

Your suggestion works for me.... almost! When I do the "file", "print", and click to "selection" it prints just the highlighted text... but... it does it in a narrow column about an inch and a half wide from the top to the bottom of the page. Urrrgggg...

Another Option...    Posted 03-01-2005 at 08:50:28       [Reply]  [No Email]
You can highlight the text you want to copy, then paste into a Word document. You will need to highlight the individual comments and not the enire thread. It should print without all the boarders. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your help. When I follow your steps I get to the point where I did the highlight, edit and copy but where do you "open up new message"? Under tools there's "new message" but when I click that it gives you the emailing block, not for printing. Urrrrggg.

Or you can use Blank email. if you want to leave it
running. open it click to new mail "minimize page"
copy what you want, bring up email paste in message
space and copy.......delete email. thats the way I
used to do it.

I know what you mean by the narrow column. I've had
that happen.(once in a while) but not always.
don't know what causes that.

You will have to open another program like 'Notepad' or Wordpad...

Both should be under Start/programs/accessories

When you highlight the words you want to copy, make sure your curser is over the blue highlighted words WHEN you right click and you should be able to copy them just fine. If your curser is somewhere else on the screen it won't work properly.
