Good Morning everyone!

Just had to pop in and let everyone know that little Matthew Smith is coming home today! Thank you to everyone praying for this family....God has, yet again, answered our prayers.

Here's the email I got from his proud Aunt:

Matthew is going home today!

We just praise the Lord for this day and every day for the past, almost, 3 months.

I know many of you may have been checking the web site and noticed that there haven't been any new postings in a while. Amanda has been VERY busy making the transition to feeding. Matthew has to be fed every 2 hours and then once he has eaten has to be held upright for 30 minutes. If you know anything about this procedure, you have probably already done the math. Basically, by the time the process of one feeding is over it is time to start again. Please continue to pray for Kevin and Amanda and Matthew. Pray for rest and protection. Matthew will be a "home body" for a while but I hope in a couple months many of you will get to meet my little buddy. You all have given our family something more precious than gold and that is your prayers!

Love,

A VERY Proud Aunt Mandy

Aw, that is fantastic news!! One positive thing about that feeding shcedule, is since Mathew will be in nearly constant contact with someone holding him, I will bet a million the warmth of touch and contact helps him heal that much faster.

Before my twins were born, I bought a pair of beautiful maple cribs. They never slept a night in them. They needed to nurse every two hours, and would nurse for as long as 30 minutes, times two - boy howdy do I understand the math! I figured out really quickly that it was a lot easier to roll over to one side & then the other, or halfway sit up with a double nursing pillow and get up only to change diapers, rather than getting up out of bed XXX times a night, and soothing one to sleep while the other screamed. They never cried when next to me. They still sleep in the nooks of my arms. I know too well they are small for such a short time.
