I just heard about this story.

This guy ought to have six months in jail IMO, not just probation.

It didn't say in the article if he was shooting at her or shooting like up over a ridge that he didn't know or didn't care what was on the other side. What was the situation?

this is old news around here. it happened about 30 miles from here. evidently the guy is a jerk but the bullet traveled almost one mile before it hit the woman. the bullet "bounced" off the woman's head but still had enouigh energy to cause her harm. not taking sides here, just pointing out the facts.

Yes this was on our local news last night. This shooting happened two miles from my home during deer season the clown was shooting at a red fox is what he said to the state police..He got 6 mo. probation and $3,000 in fines and lost hunting priv. for 5 years. Its all a darn shame that a guy like this makes good hunters look bad. The area is farmland but there are cluster of houses here and there so you gota watch where you are shooting. I'am a hunter and there are lots of deer around but would never shoot aroung my area because of all the houses around.I think it should be a buckshot area myself then this would not have happened. Just my 2 cents.

Figures. I know better than to believe everything I read. Still, he sounds like a real winner (not).

I agree Zenia.

The one Cardinal Rule of Huntin is that ALLWAYS be sure of what you are shooting at before you pull the trigger!

Anyone who doesnt do this and shoots someone else by accident should have the book thrown at them.

There are huntin accidents and there is reckless negligence. When you pull the trigger delibeately and shoot someone because you ignored the Cardinal rule, you should have heavy criminal charges put on ya.

you know im a firm beliver of Street Justice, always have been and always will be, they say you cannot or should not do things like that anymore, instead your supposed to let the criminal system do it, all i seem to see much of them doing these days is protecting the bad guys and the victums are left to deal with what happened to them,i for one don,t intend to be a victum and am real close to reverting back to the days when i dealt with things myself, laws are made for lawabiding people , when the law don,t protect them then they have to take matters into their on hands, i hope that lady has some tough brothers and friends to pay that fool a visit.
