I just called our local satellite office. The lady i talked to said they were having difficulties with it also, in there office one room could get it another couldnt. She thought maybe they were doing updates. You might call your local office as she also said they were not aware of how many people this affected. We have DirectTV.

11:45 A.M. Sitting here watching RFD TV on 379 on my direct TV system. Iwas notified some time ago that I needed an upgrade to continue operating as normal. That was about a year ago, or a little less.

well, did you do the upgrade, or not? You didn't say. I figured that all of us in the east would be affected when it shut down operations. I am going to call them again, didn't get much of an answer this morning

Yes I did, and it took some doing. I kept getting an onscreen message that told me I needed to upgrade.
After several calls they finally arrainged it. Tech came out and replaced the receiver head. It now has 3 different heads outside.
Whoops, I just turned it on, and it only shows the direct tv. Logo. Hmmmm

I have a rant about dish network:
BEWARE BEFORE YOU SIGN UP THE COMMITMENT IS ONLY ON YOUR PART NOT THEIRS

they had me sign a 1 year commitment to be able to get my local channels but they can raise my rate anytime they want to and I have to pay the increase. They also are dropping channels.
Most of the channels play reruns that have already been played on direcTV.

all in all when my one year commitment is up Dish TV will be history in this house. I should have read the commitment form BEFORE getting this service.
