I received this letter at 1-15 after writing them. I also called Direct tv and they said I could not get the channel without an up grade. Guess we shall see RET
DIRECTV made a mistake, and RFD-TV will be back on channel 379 within the hour.

I was just informed by DIRECTV technical operations, that a mistake was made by their uplink facility, and RFD-TV was mistakenly moved from DIRECTV's 101 satellite location to their 119 location last night. This has resulted in many DIRECTV subscribers not "seeing" RFD-TV on their program guide, or on channel 379, at this time.

I have been assured that this will not happen again. DIRECTV received thousands of calls already from their mistake, and have learned a lesson today about the power of rural America.

I assure you that RFD-TV knew nothing about this problem until it happened. It has caught us by surprise, too.

Thanks for your concern. We apologize for your inconvenience this morning. RFD-TV is here to stay on DIRECTV channel 379, on DIRECTV's main satellite location at 101. It is not necessary to "upgrade" your system.

Thanks for watching RFD-TV - Rural America's Most Important Network.

Now you see if you'd had Dish instead of Direct, you'd have had it for years and you wouldda never had this problem. I've had Primestar, Direct and Dish. Dish is the best, although I see it just went up 3 bucks a month.

you done good ret! probably cost some directtv pseudo-executive alot of grief but that's exactly the way to get things done. if you feel like they're talking crap or trying to snow you, don't argue with them - thank the silly basterds, ask who they work for and sail right over their pointed heads. if the next guy doesn't co-operate, keep going!

i can tell you've done this before & realizing there were 2 companies involved was just the ammo you needed. your efforts no doubt straightened things out for everybody. my hat's off ret! yeeeeeehawwwwww!!! :)

I now have 2 channel 379 go to that channel, then flip the up or down button one time. One is just Direct logo, the other is RFD. Both say 379.
